RingRemote Privacy Policy

Developer: Fanar Studios Effective date: November 2, 2026 Contact: fanarstudios.apps@gmail.com

In short

RingRemote lets family members check and change a relative's phone ringer. It only stores what it needs to do that. It has no ads and no tracking, and it never sells or shares your data.

What the app does

You install RingRemote on two or more phones. A Controller phone can check a Controlled phone's ringer (Silent, Vibrate or Normal) and its volume, make it ring loud, put it back, and set ring-loud schedules. Phones are linked once with a 6-digit pairing code.

Data the app stores

Data Why
A random app ID per phone (Firebase anonymous sign-in) To know which phones are paired. No account, email or phone number is needed.
Push token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) So the Controlled phone can receive commands.
Phone name (model, or a name the owner chooses) Shown to the Controllers of that phone.
Controller's name (typed by the Controller) Shown on the Controlled phone, e.g. "Made loud by Ali".
Ringer mode, ring volume, Do Not Disturb state To answer "Check status" and confirm each command.
Battery level, charging, connection type (Wi-Fi/mobile), signal bars, time zone Shown to that phone's Controllers, so they know whether it can be reached and so schedule times display correctly.
Schedules (times and days) So the phone can ring loud at the chosen times.
When the phone last checked in To show "Seen 3 min ago".

What the app does not collect

No location, contacts, call logs, SMS, microphone, camera, photos, files, advertising ID or browsing data. There are no ads and no analytics.

Who can see it

Only the phones you paired. A Controlled phone's information is visible only to the Controllers it added with a pairing code. Data is not shared with or sold to anyone.

Where it is stored

On Google Firebase servers (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions, United States), encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Google acts as our service provider; see Firebase privacy. App settings and the saved "before Ring loud" ringer state are kept on the phone itself.

How long it is kept

  • Records of individual commands are deleted within one day.
  • Pairings, names, schedules and the latest status are kept until you unpair or remove the phone.

Delete your data

  • In the app: Settings → Change this phone's role. This removes that phone's pairings, schedules and stored status.
  • Uninstall the app to stop all further data.
  • Email fanarstudios.apps@gmail.com and we will delete it within 30 days.

Permissions

Permission Why
Internet To receive commands and send answers over Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Do Not Disturb access (notification policy) Android only lets apps switch Silent / Vibrate / Normal with this. The user turns it on in Settings.
Alarms & reminders (exact alarms) To run auto-restore and schedules at the exact minute chosen.
Notifications Optional: a silent note when someone manually rings the phone loud or restores it.
Run at startup To set timers and schedules again after the phone restarts.
Receive push messages, keep awake briefly, network state Added by Google's push service so commands can wake the app.

Children

RingRemote is meant for adults and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new effective date.
